About our school
P.S. 189 - The Bilingual Center is a Kindergarten to 8th grade school that offers a rigorous curriculum to foster college preparation, bilingualism, and leadership skills for all students.
The Bilingual Center's classrooms feature diverse learning programs that include foreign languages--Spanish, Haitian-Creole, French and Latin, an engaging academic curriculum, a robust arts program, and technology skills.
Our teachers are skilled and dedicated to their student's and their own growth. They have a deep sense of community with many either enrolling their own children in the school or recommending the school to relatives and neighbors.

At Public School 189 – The Bilingual Center, we are committed to developing students who achieve the highest educational standards through blended learning, are fluent in two languages, are problem solvers and critical thinkers, and are active participants in the life of their families, communities, city, state, country, and the greater global society.
