Student Registration

Join the P.S. 189 community! We are currently accepting applications for the 2025–2026 school year for students entering Kindergarten through Grade 8.

If you are interested in registering your child, you can email: iruiz@schools.nyc.gov

To register your child you must submit the following documents:

• Birth Certificate or Passport
• Proof of Immunization
• (2) Proofs of Address - Proof of Address must be in one of the parent's names. Examples of acceptable proof of address are utility bills, property tax bills, medical insurance bills, and mail from a government agency. *Must be current.
• Child's last Report Card from the previous school
• Parent Identification

Please be prepared to fill out registration documents.

Uniforms
P.S. 189 The Bilingual Center is a uniform school. Students are expected to wear navy blue pants, skirts, or jumpers with a white collared shirt (button-down or polo). Uniforms are widely available at stores such as Cookies, Ideals, and other school uniform retailers.
